Hello, my name is Adra and I have been in the pet industry for over 25 yrs. My passion for animals started as a small child. I have had one of everything at some point in my life I feel - to include exotics. I basically grew up on a farm where we raised all sorts of animals. Everything from farm animals to dogs to wild animals to exotics. That quickly developed into the desire to breed and show llamas for myself. I started breeding and showing llamas in middle school and high school. I then purchased my first established pet store around age 18. I have attended several pet expos and pet nutrition courses and animal health education expos down through the years. I eventually began to breed and show Standard Poodles. And then - somewhere along the way we also managed to start up a second upscale pet store with a grooming salon. Eventually my goals changed and I wanted to focus on my family and my husband's construction business. So in 2013ish after 10 plus years - we sold the pet stores. One is still up and running today!! My love for animals never died and after a year or so I was longing for more animals in my life. I primarily worked from home so I knew I had the time to dedicate to a new family pet. So that's when I decided to purchase my first Sphynx!! And that's when Royal Velvet Sphynx was born...
We are a small and reputable cattery registered with TICA, CFA, and LCWW, servicing cat lovers in Nashville, TN and surrounding areas such as Chattanooga and Knoxville, and even across the country. At our Spring City cattery, our babies are not just pets, but cherished members of our family. They are raised in our home, receiving constant interaction, love, and socialization from the moment they enter the world.
Our program focuses on Sphynx, Devon Rex, and Lykoi breeds, with occasional outcrossing of approved breeds. This strategic outcrossing allows us to expand the gene pool, ensuring greater diversity and bringing in desirable traits. We prioritize show quality, health, and happiness while preserving the distinct characteristics of each breed.
To guarantee the well-being of our kittens, our Kings and Queens undergo a rigorous selection process. They are meticulously screened and cleared of over 40 different genetic predispositions through DNA testing. We also conduct yearly screenings for HCM by a board-certified cardiologist, ensuring the cardiac health of our cats. Furthermore, all our feline companions are tested and confirmed negative for FeLV/FIV.
Please note that we do not sell intact cats. Our primary goal is to find loving forever homes for our kittens, where they will be cherished companions.

Healthy and Well-Cared Kittens
Our kittens are thoughtfully raised and come to you between 14 & 16 weeks old, with vet-administered vaccines, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health.
Comprehensive Health Care
We prioritize your kitten's well-being with minimum Two FVRCP vet-administered vaccines, age-appropriate dewormer, FeLV/FIV negative status, and regular fecal testing.
Genuine Registration and Documentation
Each kitten comes with TICA or CFA registration papers, ensuring their pedigree and authenticity, along with normal range blood work and a 30-day FREE pet insurance by TruPanion.
Quality Guarantee
We stand by the quality of our kittens with a health guarantee against genetic or cognitive defects, as well as HCM & FIP guarantee. Our cattery is HCM scanning, and scans are available upon request.
I had an amazing experience getting my Sphynx kitten from Royal Velvet. He came extremely well socialized, loving, litter trained, and happy. I was updated along the way and my questions always answered. Adra was super responsive from the beginning until the end.
